The attention of the Kogi State Pension Commission has been drawn to the activities of some fraudsters in the state defrauding Local Government Pensioners of their funds under the guise of assisting them to facilitate their gratuity payment.
The Commission has taken swift action to address this issue, warning pensioners to be wary of such scams while advising them to only deal with authorized personnel.
The Commission has also increased its efforts to educate pensioners on how to protect themselves from fraudsters and would set up a hotline for reporting any suspicious activities.
In addition, the Commission is working closely with law enforcement agencies to track down and prosecute those responsible for these fraudulent activities.
The Commission is committed to ensuring that pensioners in Kogi State receive their rightful benefits and will continue to take all necessary measures to prevent fraud and protect the interests of pensioners.
It wishes to assure the Local Government Pensioners and the general public that the Commission is known to have always applied the highest level of ethical procedures in carrying out its functions and would not entertain any misconduct or misdemeanors from its staff.
The Commission noted that the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the wellbeing and welfare of all pensioners in the State.
This, it states is evident in the various policies and initiatives that his administration has put in place to ensure that pensioners are adequately catered for, adding that with Governor, pensioners in Kogi State can rest assured that their welfare will always be a top priority.
