The Governor of Kogi State has made a firm commitment to tackle the pressing issues of food security and economic downturn head-on.
To achieve this, he has announced the implementation of quarterly food palliatives and cash incentives for every household in the state.
Governor Ododo stated, “We are fully prepared to launch the first round of quarterly food palliatives and cash support for the people of Kogi State.
The Governor who spoke after a crucial State holders meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja, said necessary grains and funds for logistics have been secured, and our team in Lokoja is currently finalizing the distribution plans.
“In just a few days, we will commence the distribution of grains and cash support to all households across the 239 wards in our state” he stressed.
This initiative according to him is “aligns with our campaign promises to align with the policies and programs of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
Governor Ododo reassured the people of Kogi State that the distribution of these interventions will be carried out seamlessly.
He emphasized the importance of active involvement from community leaders, religious leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient distribution process.
Furthermore, the Governor highlighted that his administration is already working on long-term measures to promote agricultural development in livestock and crop production.
“These measures aim to guarantee food security in Kogi State by implementing a combination of commercial and subsistence farming practices across all regions of the state.
By addressing the immediate needs of the people through food palliatives and cash incentives, while simultaneously focusing on long-term agricultural development, the Governor is demonstrating a comprehensive approach to tackling the challenges faced by Kogi State.
