“For your good works at maintaining the security of lives and properties in Kogi State, you deserve to be commended.”
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, made this statement during an advocacy visit to the Headquarters of the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lokoja.
Speaking further, Hon. Fanwo emphasized his mission to advocate partnership with NSCDC to sensitize the people on their roles to maintaining the security of lives and properties.
He noted that the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been replacing infrastructure because of vandalism, enjoining the people to realise that protection of the infrastructure is part of their responsibilities as they were erected for them, commending NSCDC, on behalf of Governor Yahaya Bello, for protecting lives and properties.
The Commandant of NSCDC, Mr. Oyinloye Kayode, in his response, commended Hon. Fanwo for visiting the command pointing out that NSCDC recognized the duty and mandate of the Ministry on educating, informing and enlightening the people, adding that he sees the Ministry as the agent through which NSCDC can realize its goals and mandate.
He stated that NSCDC would continue to maintain and protect the critical national assets in all arms of the government, adding that Kogi State is volatile because it shares borders with nine states, assuring that NSCDC personnel would not relent in their efforts.
The Commandant appreciated GYB for mapping out security processes, stressing that Kogi State is peaceful because of the excellent security steps that the Governor has put in place.
