The Kogi State Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Hon. Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu has charged the Staff of the Ministry to put in their best and go the extra mile when discharging their duties.
Hon. Muhammed made this known while taking the helms of affairs at the Ministry.
After a brief introduction, he specially appreciated the Almighty God for giving him the grace to witness such a day, and also the Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo for the opportunity to serve the State in a bigger capacity – one he won’t take likely, nor forget in a hurry.
According to him, the Journey to his appointment as Commissioner wasn’t something that started today, but several years ago. And it’s as a result of handwork, resilience, commitment, and the will of God.
“I am very happy to be standing before you today as the newly appointed Hon. Commissioner for Commerce & Industry. And to be honest, it might interest you to know that I have occupied various offices, and served in different capacities over the years.
From being a Special Adviser on Youths & Sports for Bassa Local Government, Youth Empowerment Coordinator, Vice Chairman of the Council and appointed SSA Security by the former Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello for the same Local Government.
I aim to bring all these wealth of knowledge and experiences to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, because i’m only here to do ONE thing – TO SERVE.
However, my act of service cannot be complete without your cooperation.
I want to charge everyone of you to be steadfast, committed & dedicated to your offices & disciplines, as we can never succeed if we don’t work together as a team.
I won’t tolerate any act of indiscipline, and I encourage everyone to put in their best, and always make yourselves readily available when called upon.
Don’t just see me as your Boss, but also as your Brother who wants you to succeed.
And so, please feel free to bring any innovative ideas that can help us move the Ministry forward in many years to come.
I will fix a date with the Ag Perm Sec, so that we can have a proper meeting, as this one is just an Introduction to your new Commissioner.
Thank you so much for welcoming me with open arms, may the Almighty God bless all of you.”
Responding, the Acting, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Sule Ohueyi
congratulated the Commissioner, referencing the Principal’s track record of achievement and awards, assuring him that the Staff will do their best to work with him & achieve all necessary goals.
