Technical Adviser of Confluence Queens FC, coach Whyte Ogbonda has sounded a note of warning to his players not to get distracted and get the Super Six job done
While addressing the press after his side’s 1-2 away win against Abia Angels today in Umuahia, the Port- Harcourt based coach praised his players for their determination and performance so far, but did not fail to remind them of the importance of their next game at home to Lafia rivals Nasarawa Amazons
In his words ” I want to really appreciate my players for the efforts they have put in so far, eight games unbeaten run worth commending but now it’s very dangerous to get carried away. ” The main job is our next home match against Nasarawa Amazons, it’s a game that will decide our super six faith.” Said Whyte
” I am very happy with this win, and I want to use the avenue to thank Kogi State governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello because the recent 100% increment in salary has helped the team. Since December when the salary has been increased, we have not lost a match. It’s a good motivation”.
The Lokoja-based team remained unbeaten in the last eight games against Abia Angels, Nasarawa Amazons, Ibom Angels home and away, FC Robo, Edo Queens, Adamawa Queens and Abia Angels
With the 1-2 win recorded in Umuahia, Confluence Queens has now moved top of the NWFL group B table with 20 pts, with FC Robo and Edo Queens both on 19 pts and Nasarawa Amazons on 16 pts
The team will welcome fellow northern rivals Nasarawa Amazons on Wednesday 12th April 2023 in a cracker many female football lovers are looking forward to watching.
