Kogi State has been acknowledged and confirmed as an oil-producing State.
The Governor of the State, Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello, announced this while presiding over the State Executive Council at the Lugard House in Lokoja.
On Thursday, the Governor announced that the State has received its first payment of the 13% derivation fund.
The first state in northern Nigeria recognized as an oil-producing State is Kogi State.
The long-running oil issues between the Kogi and Anambra border towns have been resolved as a result of this acknowledgment.
